On the deck building side of things we added a team member (DJ!), increased our use of steel frames and we expanded our operations to include more hardscapes, retaining walls and overall backyard redesign.

DJ Rivera is our newest team member, he started this time last year, but it feels like he has been here all along. He immediately jumped in and used his 15 years of deck building experience, particularly with steel frames, to help us stay on the leading edge of alternative materials. He is an incredible addition to the CWI family.

We are finding more and more a need to integrate permeable pavers and retaining walls into our scope. Due to lot coverage requirements within the city of Atlanta, we’ve gotten creative with our screen porch and deck builds.

We’ve traded driveway square footage in exchange for permeable pavers and engaged our mason to construct retaining walls.

Footings, elevations, walls, masonry patios and outdoor fireplaces all need to communicate with the deck and porch to make them function as one cohesive space. This year we have successfully added the design capacity, additional team members and partners to do this well.

While we are learning and growing our capabilities we are also building what we are known for: great decks, and screen porches, large and small! It has been a good year full of fun projects and awesome clients! Here are just a few (swipe to view).

On the cabinet side of things the shop guys did not disappoint. We got to build some fun and creative stuff, thanks to our incredible clients and their designers.

We received our first commission for funky upholstered work booths.

One client's design included many bold colors and textures. It turned our shop, paint booth and carpenters a few funky colors—a perfect way to celebrate our 25th year!

One of our long-time clients asked us to build and install our custom French beaded, heavily trimmed cabinets for a new bank in Coweta County.

It wouldn’t be a normal year at the shop without at least one tongue and groove ceiling. We celebrated 25 years with two large ceilings this year.

Kicking Off Our 26th Year:

More steel-frame-decks on the docket annnnnd we are teaming up with a previous client and Uncommon Studios on a shop project that will be next level!

Wishing all of you a Happy New Year!
